Dermapaning

What is dermaplaning?

This non-invasive exfoliating treatment involves the controlled use of a sterile scalpel like tool to safely exfoliate the skin’s surface whilst also removing peach fuzz.

Vellus facial hair contributes to a build-up of dirt and oils in the hair follicles, leading to enlarge pores.

By removing the vellus hair and dead skin cells, the resultant outer layer is more receptive to skin care products and other aesthetic treatments and allows for a flawless make-up application. The skin is left radiant and dewy. A must prior to an important event and is also safe for pregnant and nursing women.

FAQs

Dermaplaning is not a one-off treatment as skin naturally resurfaces itself approximately once a month. Most patients find that one appointment per month keeps their skin smooth and healthy, but less frequent treatments are also possible. A preliminary consultation will determine the best treatment programme for you to avoid over-exfoliation and maintaining your smooth skin. With a commitment to regular appointments and a good skincare routine at home to enhance your results, your skin will remain smooth and glowing for years to come.

Dermaplaning is the ultimate glow treatment, skin is instantly ultra-smooth, glowing and refreshed, when combined with other therapies results are amplified. Dermaplaning creates the perfect base for makeup application.

This treatment is an excellent option for men and women who are dissatisfied with the texture or feel their skin is dull and lifeless in appearance. These issues are often the result of the accumulation of dead skin cells and natural peach fuzz growth on the surface of our skin.

This treatment may not be ideal for those with hypersensitive skin, skin conditions like rosacea, or significant skin concerns like extensive wrinkling, severe sundamage/photoageing, which are often better addressed by a more intensive treatment.

In addition, it may not be ideal for those with active acne. Due to the use of a blade, acne can be irritated or even nicked during treatment, which can damage the skin instead of refreshing it.
